How to Start?: A Quick Guide for Beginner Photographers/Videographers

Here at PicTheShot we encourage any and everyone to express their creativity, whither it be via photography, videos, animation, design, drawing, etc. It’s known that you can lower stress and live a much better life when you’re able to vent the ideas that are floating around your head.

SOOOO…today I’m presenting you a list of equipment so you can start showcasing your creative babies! So for those wanting to get into photography or videography here is a starter kit under $500.

CAMERA

Let me start off here…if you own a smartphone you should learn/use your phone to take pictures and photos. They are great tools that people over look because it doesn’t seem professional. But, that’s NOT TRUE… look at our previous post to see how amazing yourpictures can look via a smartphone.

If you are looking to buy a camera, I suggest a beginner DSLR so you are able to work on photos and videos (allows you to do both).

LENS

When taking pictures and videos there are some basics you would need to get the ball rolling, I suggest getting these two when considered lens.

EF-S 24mm f/2.8

50mm prime lens

The Rest of the gear

16gb SD card

LED external light

This is just a quick, brief proposal for those who are considering taking pics. It won’t break the bank and you will be able to look like a pro. So, as always do some more research before purchasing, but hope we led you down the right path.

Like a Pro For the Low: Pictures Shot on Phones

Everyone should be able to express his or her creativity through a camera’s lens. Especially during these times, where access to platforms are right at our fingertips. With a press of a button millions of people can view your ideas. But, for someone starting off, this might seem intimidating, leaving them to never try. BUT, in all honesty, you are probably more than ready to get capturing the world then what you assume.

If you have access to a smartphone then this post is for you! Below are some photos, and videos taken on a phone…YES A PHONE.

Be inspired and never let the price tag of expensive equipment steer you away.

"I started taking photography seriously when I realized that was all I wanted to do. I love photography. Shortly after that, I started to get paid for my work. What an incredible feeling that is."

"My favorite lens to use is the Canon 100mm Macro f2.8L, without a doubt. Sharp and extremely versatile."

Best tip for new beginners?: 
"For photographers, and I think you can relate this to any medium, don't confine yourself. Just shoot your ass off. Shoot every angle possible until you get something you like, and then keep shooting. And never limit your subject base. Work on anything and everything. And listen to Three 6 Mafia as much as possible. After that, listen to Project Pats, "Mista Don't Play" - Probably some of the most important music ever made. #CheeseAndDope #NorthMemphis"

Sup guys, I haven't shown one of my drawings here for awhile so I thought I'd post something I made some time back. I made it using just a mouse and photoshop, it took me roughly over an hour to finish it and it isn't a drawing of something or someone that actually exists, just something I thought up of on the spot.
